1. Time required

There is nothing much to worry here. You just need to dedicate 30 minutes or so to the stuffed mushroom recipe to pull off a stunning smoky flavor.

2. Ingredients required

There sure is a bunch of things you may require for this recipe. Let us take a look what they are:-

  • Rinse 12 medium sized crimini mushrooms clean of any grit
  • Pepper and salt
  • Half a cup breadcrumbs
  • A cup of grated cheese
  • Half a cup of diced sweet onion
  • Half a cup of diced poblano pepper
  • A red jalapeno, diced
  • A small, diced bell pepper
  • A tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, take extra for oiling the grill.

3. The cooking procedure

You just have to stick to the steps that follow to come up with a stellar smoked stuffed mushroom:-

  • Fire up your grill and allow it to preheat for some time.
  • Cut off the stems of all the mushrooms with a small knife.
  • For stuffing, a cavity has to be created by hollowing out the mushrooms. This has to be done carefully in order to avoid cutting through the mushrooms.
  • Take a skillet and in it, heat the extra virgin olive oil on medium flame.
  • To this add pepper and salt, onion and diced peppers.
  • Cook these vegetables for about 4 to 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat allow them to stand for some time to cool.
  • Stir some grated cheese with this.
  • In another skillet, toast some breadcrumbs on low heat. Toast them until they appear lightly browned.
  • Now grab the mushrooms and stuff them with the vegetable mixture. Spread some breadcrumbs over the mushrooms.
  • Use the extra oil to lightly dab the grill. A paper towel may be used to help the process.
  • Transfer the so stuffed mushrooms on to the grill.
  • Carefully lower down the lid and allow cooking for about 6 minutes. During this time, the cheese melts and mushrooms are cooked throughout.
